REACH POLICY

CD019 v6 | Issue Date: 26/03/2024

The REACH (Registration Evaluation & Authorisation of Chemicals) Regulation (EU Directive
1907/2006/EC) came into force on 1st June 2007 and requires chemical substances manufactured or
imported in the EU, in volumes greater than 1 tonne per year, to be pre-registered and registered. The
Registration is the responsibility of the EU manufacturer or importer. Importers and manufacturers of
chemical substances, mixtures and articles are required to communicate down the supply chain if
their products contain any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) above 0.1% (w/w).

As a stockist and distributor of composite and structural engineering materials and accessories to
Aviation, Space, Defence, Motorsport, and Industrial markets AMI-CON recognise the role that we
have under REACH and participate in communicating up and down the supply so that we can fulfil our
obligations under REACH.

To ensure compliance to the EU Directive 1907/2006/EC, we require:

  • our manufacturers and suppliers to provide current and up-to-date Safety Data Sheets CLP
compliant, Regulatory Safety Data Sheets and/or REACH Compliance statements
  • substances in imported products comply with registration requirements under REACH
  • advise AMI-CON immediately of any products that contain SVHC in concentrations above
0.1% (weight/weight), so that we can fulfil our obligations to inform our customers so that
obsolescence can be factored/designed out before the sunset date of the registered material.

As a distributor, AMI-CON Supplies Limited depends on its suppliers to ensure that the appropriate
compliance action is taken with regards to their products/formulations and actively communicate to
AMI-CON the status and details of any affected products. In turn, our internal processes will ensure
dissemination, management of the regulatory information downstream and the ability to update our
systems accordingly.
